Vice Sheet - May 2002 by Sallie Banko, Region 2 RVC |
Volunteers! I'm looking for volunteers! Our National Gifted Children Program Coordinator, Dr. Joan Hiller, is stepping down from the position. Anyone interested in tackling this job? If so, contact Jean Becker and let her know of your interest.
A little closer to home, I'm looking for someone who would be willing to be a regional LDW coordinator. This person would be responsible for coordinating any LDWs that would be held within the region - either by helping a local group organize the event, or running it him/herself. This person would get lots of support from myself, the national LDW coordinator - and some of his/her AG expenses paid so that s/he could attend the LDW workshop that is scheduled to take place there.
If you are interested in either of these positions but want more information, please contact me.
And speaking of contacting me - if you have me listed in your address book with an AOL e-dress, it's time to update it. If you have my old CompuServe address, you REALLY need to update! My new address is sallieb@ptd.net. Yes, I've moved on to a two way cable connection - and I love it! There's no need to change anything if you are using RVC2@us.mensa.org. This is a forwarding e-dress, and I will still get anything sent to that address.
That's all for now - It's getting pretty close to the end of the school year, which is a very busy time for me. It seems as the weather gets warmer, more kids are getting into trouble (or at least getting caught at it!). The more kids that get into trouble, the more students I end up having to test, teach, and then write reports when they leave. May always seems to be our busy season!
If you are planning to attend the AG, make sure to stop and say hi to me sometime!
