Vice Sheet - May 2001 by Sallie Banko, Region 2 RVC |
Its good to see recognition go to those who volunteer! Here is a listing of those
nominees in our region for the upcoming Publications awards. (A full listing of the
nominations can be found at www.us.mensa.org.)
The winners are announced at the AG but I think those that are nominated deserve a
round of applause as a thank you for work well done:

The work you do that contributes to the quality of the "Mensa experience" is greatly appreciated. Thank you !
And now for some more interesting events/ presentations of events gleaned from the region.....
Now that the weather is cooperating, why not think about some outdoor activities? Central new Jersey is having a canoe trip. I know that in the past both Central PA and Delaware Valley Mensa have also planned canoe trips, both calm and whitewater varieties. Lehigh Pocono has a history of tubing trips (Derriere in the Delaware).
Delaware and Delaware Valley Mensa have already joined efforts this year and planned a weekend of camping, hiking and gaming. Hiking events are also planned in MWM. And don’t let me forget M-WAM, Mensa Walks across Maryland.
Plan a garden party, back yard BBQ, a pool plunge. Go kite flying, on an amusement park outing, visit a nearby state park for the day. How about an outside checker/chess tournament? Any parades coming up soon? Why not get a group of Mensans to take part in it?
And picnics! A great event for all ages. I seem to recall softball challenges between local groups. Or just schedule a softball outing for a fun time within your own group. Don’t think you’ll get enough people for two full teams? Play Bounce Out, where a minimum of 5 can play (How is this played, you ask? Ask me!)
And finally, more interesting event names:
Enjoy the summer!
