December featured Central Pennsylvania Mensa's annual Winter
Solstice Regional Gathering (RG). In lieu of program tracks
that most RGs offer, this RG featured a casual laid-back weekend
of hospitality, games, a family style banquet (free with your
registration), and the world's most unusual gift exchange. One
of the highlights for me was seeing at least three members of
the local group attend their first RG.
Our region's next RG is Central New Jersey's Snowball RG,
March 3-5, 2006, at the Radisson Hotel in Piscataway, New Jersey.
This is the longest running and one of the best RGs in the country.
You can find the latest information at their website,

If you're looking for something to do in April, check out Mensa
Mind Games, which will be held in Portland, Oregon. It is an
intense weekend of play, a marathon of gaming, and an experience
you're never likely to forget. More information about Mind Games
can be found at their website,
mindgames.us.mensa.org.
In August, American Mensa will be celebrating Mensa's 60th birthday
in Orlando at the World Gathering (WG). More than 900 people have
registered, and more than 150 programs already have been scheduled.
I hope to see many of you there, August 8-13, 2006, at the Coronado
Springs Hotel. More information about the WG can be found at their
website,
wg06.us.mensa.org.
Several members joined our Yahoo group last month,
bringing the total to 38. The AMC meets the last weekend in March,
and I'll be discussing many of the agenda items on the Yahoo group.
If you want to hear what is going on, please join us. Nobody is
required to participate, but input is always welcome. The more I
hear what our members want, the better I can represent you at the
meeting. You can find the Region 2 Yahoo group at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AML-Region2/.
